FoFVA Co-Hosting Filmmaker Events with UNM Continuing Education
The University of New Mexico Department of Continuing Education offers an extensive digital arts program for new and experienced people. FoFVA will be co-hosting or participating in several events this year for filmmakers with UNM DCE's Digital Arts program, as well as other non-UNM DCE events. Our Summer 2008 line-up is in the works, and we'll post it here soon as it's available.
FoFVA 2008 Participation in Other Film Related Activities
Our members regularly participate in conferences, round-table discussions, panels and presentations in New Mexico to educate, promote and support New Mexican filmmakers and their work. These are a few of the events in which members have participated this year:

Saturday, January 12: MISP Conference, UNM Student Union Bldg, Albuquerque NM |
Friday, February 29: NM Professional Filmmakers Showcase (view several original films and talk to the filmmakers!) |
Saturday, March 1: Digital Arts Conference, 9AM - 5PM (booth and presentation) |
Educational Presentations and ScreeningsMonthly Sunday gatherings enable members and invited guests to give educational presentations on a variety of topics important to New Mexican filmmakers. Gatherings often also include screening members' works with follow-up Q&A. |
There's a lot of great information about MISP and their conference and activities on the MISP Web site, http://www.altmedianm.org/.
